How does the water bottle refill the bowl?

By gravity. As your animal drinks, the level drops and the bottle releases just enough to bring it back up. Nothing to plug in.

How often should I clean it?

Rinse the water bowl daily and take the whole thing apart for a proper wash once a week. Standing water needs more attention than dry food does.

Is it big enough for a large dog?

No. It is sized for cats and small dogs. A large dog will empty it too quickly and the bowl height will be wrong.

Can I use wet food in it?

You can, but wash the food bowl after every meal. The design suits dry food best.
