More than a toy

A slower meal, a busier mind

Teal and yellow treat-dispensing toy ball, studio hero shot

How it works

Push, roll, and the reward comes out

Fill it with kibble or small treats. As your dog pushes, rolls and nudges it, the contents come out a little at a time. Most dogs work it out within a few tries.

Why it helps

For dogs that inhale their food

Eating too fast is a known risk factor in some breeds. Slowing the meal down while working a dog's natural urge to forage is a simple, well-established principle.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Will my dog work out how to use it?

Most dogs get it within a few tries, especially if you let a couple of treats fall out first to get them started. A very young or less playful dog may need a little longer.

Is it right for a dog that chews hard?

It is a dispenser, not a chew toy, and it is not built to resist destruction. Use it under supervision, particularly with a dog that bites down hard.

Will it be noisy on a hard floor?

A rigid toy makes more noise on tile or wood than on a rug. If your floors are mostly hard, use it on a rug or outdoors.

Does any kibble work?

Very irregular or very large pieces can jam, or fall out too easily. Standard-size kibble works best.

Can I change the difficulty?

How you fill it and how your dog plays with it both change how quickly the food comes out.

How do I clean it?

Warm soapy water. Avoid the dishwasher to protect the material, unless the packaging says otherwise.
